What can I expect on my first visit?

You can't miss our church at the intersection of 12th Avenue and Lake Shore Drive. The main entrance is on Lake Shore Drive, and you'll recognize it by the sign. Park anywhere you like and as you enter the doors of the building expect one of our ushers or members to greet you and shake your hand. The ushers can help with any questions you have and guide you to the various services, nursery, or Sunday School room for the children.

Most adults attend the worship service where they enjoy the beautiful and inspiring music of the congregational singing and special music by various members. During the music portion of the service, time is taken to allow members to walk around and greet one another. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Bliss. This service is a little over one hour in length.

Where do I take my children?

Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for every age child. At every service there are safe, clean, and highly staffed nurseries for children three years old and under. For children four years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.

What about my teens?

During the Sunday School hour teens have their own class and spend the worship hour with their parents in the main auditorium.

How should I dress?

There is not a dress code at Lake Shore Drive Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Lake Shore Drive Baptist Church.

Who is Pastor James Bliss?

Pastor James Bliss and his wife Tawnya came to Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church in 2003.  Pastor James was the Assistant Pastor for almost 4 years.  The Church extended the call to Pastor James to become the Senior Pastor on November 19, 2006.  Pastor James and Tawnya are both graduates of Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, Wisconsin.  Pastor and his wife have a daughter named MaKenzie, and two sons named Ethan and Elijah.

Am I expected to participate in the offerring?

No. We don't invite you to Lake Shore Drive Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
